In January Maurice, our caretaker built the frame for our vegetable garden behind our pitch. Andrew Lennon, a parent, offered to fill it with topsoil. Because the months of January and February were so wet Andrew was unable to get the topsoil in until March 19th. During the week 26th-30th March, we planted our peas, mangetout, beetroot, radishes and spring onions in the garden. We sowed lettuce seeds in trays in our greenhouse. Because the weather was so warm and sunny we had to keep everything well watered. After Easter we transplanted the lettuce seedlings to our garden. There were so many plants that we sowed them in spare windowboxes and flowerpots also!
